On the first impression, this helicopter is low price, the packaging is somehow like a children's toy, it does not have a Gyro and the controller doesn't look as high-class as other's, on the other hand, the Heli body finishing is very good, all the details are so well painted and assembled, this is always the QC standard from Syma.

But the biggest surprise is the flying performance for this toy. It flew ABSOLTULY perfect! After you trimmed the rudder correctly on the transmitter, the helicopter will float in the air, it is so unreal, that I couldn't believe it is just a 49 dollars toy! Considering it is a Tandem Helicopter, the engineering inside is amazing. We opened the helicopter and take a look inside about the magic, we find that it was so simple and clever, the fuselage is enhanced with bone structure, that makes the helicopter very light and almost indestructible, the weight balance is just perfect, the rotor head and flybar are made with elastic plastic, the whole package is just great for any beginners. We dropped the heli from very high, and nothing was broken, amazing, isn't it?

Can a beginner like me fly it?
Yes, you can. BUT you need to have good "Right Hand" control to maintain the course of the helicopter. You may ask why this helicopter has no Gyro, but it's still fly straight? Well, I gotta explain "How the Real Helicopter Works". In real world, there is also "NO GYRO" on real helicopters, the pilot's feet is constantly adjusting the tail rotor to keep the heli's heading, it's just like we're driving a car and use our hand to control the steering wheel, we are constantly correcting the car's heading because our brain tells us to, right? Real Helicopter pilot also do this, his brain is the Gyro and he'll move the feet to control the rudder to keep the helicopter's heading. Comes to RC Helicopters, beginners always demand something that is easier and eager to fly outdoor like an expert. For a long time you can't really find something that is quite satisfy for beginners for outdoor. Now Walkera made something cool - the revolutionary Lama 3. It is the world's first production Collective Pitch Co-Axial Helicopter, it means it has the stability as a Co-Axial Helicopter, but also have the power to fight wind in outdoor condition.

While Collective Pitch Helicopters have good ability to resist wind(outdoor), but they require skillful players to operate. We all know that the Fixed Pitch Helicopter is better for beginners because of easier setup and less complicated parts than the Collective Pitch Helis. After the success of it's brother - CB100, Walkera has developed a model half step further, this time they make a Fixed Pitch Helicopter with Gyro and Rudder servo, this combination used to only show up on large Collective Pitch RC Helicopters, because this combination is expensive, usually factory will not put them on beginner models. There are good advantages for this combination. To explain this, we need to know why we need the Tail Rotor.

Gyro and Rudder Servo means good!
Tail rotor is used to generate wind to counter act the main rotor rotation. Precise of tail rotor wind is needed to keep the helicopter heading one direction. We usually have two ways in generating the precise of wind from the tail rotor, one is the Tail Motor, another one is sharing the power from the Main Motor by a tail drive shaft. Tail Motor is usually slower, it can't keep up the main motor's speed and causing the tail to drift while heli is going up and going down, usually low price model and small scale helis use a tail motor. The best solution is to have a Gyro and Rudder Servo. By changing the Tail Rotor blade pitch, you can adjust the amount of wind generating to keep the heli in one heading, to do this, you need a good performance gyro constantly monitoring the heli heading and give correction to rudder servo, then it will push the tail rotor pitch. You will not imagine how quick it worked during the flight, but it is the heart and soul for any RC helicopter.

Last year, Walkera brought a revolution in palm size helicopter, they developed the 4#3B, it was a very small 4 channel fixed pitch helicopter with specifications that only show up in big helicopter before. What's new about the Walkera CB100?
The greatest feature on the CB100 is the Hiller Stabilizer Bar, it gives the CB100 totally new flying experience.
